What rice strainer would you recommend?

So, I searched around the internet and local stores and whatnot, but it seems that from reviews I’ve read on the ones I’ve found, strainers/colanders can have issues with food getting stuck or being hard to clean. So, I am looking for the best possible rice strainer.

Do you use one to wash rice? How do you like it? What kind do you have? Where can I buy one?

Thank you for any assistance!

    baby-led weaning?

I have read about the baby-led weaning and I was wondering….
I have been giving my baby pured food for 2 months now. Is it too late to try that. is he already to set on eating babyfood from a spoon? I am a fist time very PARANOID mom and I really really don’t want him to choke. Thanks for your advice

First off, HI to the mommies I used to chat with, I haven’t been on for awhile…. But I’m coming on every now and again….

Ok, now for my question. My daughter will be 6 months on the 16th, and she is already army crawling around, but mainly scooting. She can sit unassisted for a few seconds, but I put pillows up to soften the fall. She is rolling in both directions
(for 2 months now) Her doctor recommended Stage 2 foods, but I’m not really into the jar food idea. I have one of those little strainers baby can hold, and she loves eating her banana’s out of it. She just started eating the Puffs, and as of today can use a sippy cup (NUK with the handles on the bottom). She holds her own bottle usually, when I hold her. I’ve heard about Baby Led Weaning, but am not sure what it is exactly. Can some mommies help me out with this? She is FF, due to severe tongue-tied-ness… She could not latch on to a nipple, so we pumped until my supply ran out. Does this make any difference?

Also, how much does your 6 month old drink daily? She’s averaging about 24 oz. per day. I know she’s a big girl, but she was born in the 97th percentile for everything and has remained consistent.

-O- and 1 more quick question… She says umm umm ummm, does this mean she’s close to saying mommy? I was told it was easier for babies to say dada, but she hasn’t even tried saying anything with "d" in it.

Sorry this was so long, but I;m trying to be thorough, and brag a little, as every mommy (and daddy too Seth – btw Congrats!) is entitled…. Thank You….

Why do kids like pots and pans so much?

Not to mention strainers, food storage containers, and just about anything in that cabinet? I have two cabinets that are at my son’s level, and he won’t stay out of that cabinet. He could go for the tool cabinet (locked) or the cleaning supplies (also locked DOUBLE locked), but he heads straight for the pots and pans. Why do 15 month olds like them so much? Does this mean he’ll be a chef when he’s older (yeah, I know, jk, but hey, I can get my hopes up can’t I?)
