Why is lemonade cheaper to buy than to make?

I bought some nice large lemons from the produce department for 65 cents each. I had the sugar and of course the water. I went through the process of cutting the lemons in half and using my nice and simple manual juicer (the kind that is a pointed strainer with an attached glass jar underneath). I made myself a big pitcher of the most delicious and refreshing lemonade. Then I went to the store a week later and saw that a half gallon of Minute Maid Lemonade is half the price of the cost of my fresh lemons alone.

I thought making food from scratch was supposed to cost less. But it appears that in this case, it costs much more, not to mention the investment of time. Of course, I did enjoy making it on my own, and it turned out perfectly.

    THIS STORY IS COMPLETELY HYPOTHETICAL:

I’m thinking about running away and live a nomadic life. Before I run away I will take .00 dollars from my mom’s drawer and take any other money I can find. I will take my clothes with a blanket, and my dad’s gun with some ammunition, his propane fuel, and a lighter so I can hunt and cook my food. ( My area is inhabited with lots of deer. Yum! ) . I will steal a sleeping bag from Walmart that zips the whole bag so no bugs or outside critters with get into my body when I sleep at night. I will buy one pack of nuts and eat whenever I REALLY need it. I will stay a fair and far distance from high population. Like a city. If It is like FREEZING outside or HOT AS HELL. I will find a house to stay at for a night or two. With the propane fuel and a lighter. I will pour a fresh water source into a cup and boil it. Then, I will use a strainer and strain it into another cup. Let it cool and drink it. I will also use lighter fuel and get some firewood and make a fire at night for warmth, and I can put the meat I take from deers on wooden skewers I have in the top kitchen cabinet. That is how I will cook my meat. I can also fish. I will live with this lifestyle. If I ever decide to do this. What is the most important part of survival. To you? Thanks for your answers. I appreciate it.

On the back of a bag of Ocean Spray cranberries it gives you directions how to make Jellied cranberry sauce.I tried it for Thanksgiving. It sort of "jellied" up but not the best. I had to use a wired strainer that you have to mash the cooked berries in then constantly scrape the outside stuff that went through a little into the bowl. Then store at room temp for a wile. I want something that’s easier than constantly having to scrape a strainer. Would a food mill work? A sifter?I know those are typically for dry ingredients but I’m desperate here. I don’t want to buy the can of jellied sauce. Or I’m thinking a plastic strainer? Not a colander because the holes on it are too big. Any ideas? Sifter?

After I used it to rinse the gravel, I rinsed it and soaked in hot water w/ bleach for a couple hours. Then, washed it very well w/ hot soap and water. Is it ok now to use again for food? For the future, should I just buy a separate strainer for cleaning the fish bowl only?

I went out to dinner last night and while eating my dinner,i felt something hard that i was chewing on. I pulled it out of my mouth and it was a piece of pointy metal, looked like the back of an earring. I called over the manager,he took one look at it and said,im so sorry that is a piece of our strainer. He took away the food and brought out another one. Other than his apology he took off the meal with the metal in it but still charged us for the rest of the meal.
I went home checked my mouth to make sure everything was ok and i saw a puncture mark on the side of my mouth, and it was a little swollen. considering the way the metal piece looked old and yucky, i went to the er to get it looked at,bringing the metal piece with me. the dr suggested i get a tenus shot and cleaned area with peroxide.
I called up the restaurant today and told them, they filed an incident report per my request.Just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with this type of situation? I feel its a big deal that my mouth got cut on a yucky metal piece,do u think i will be compensated if a contact my lawyer?

So I have a ten gallon tank that had fish in it last week..then they died from ich because while i was at my dads house my mom won two goldfish and stuck them in the tank with all the other fish. Anyway, I replaced all the water and I took out all the gravel and washed it with a strainer. I put the gravel back in and i put the same decor in. I filled the tank back up and im using the same old filter but i replaced one of the things because it was nasty. But the other one is still in there. I also sprinkled a little food in there. How long should i wait til add the fish?

Just wondering, I put my dogs food in a strainer or cheesecloth and just run it under water so its not soggy but is moist on the outside(still crunches), dry food does not keep dogs teeth clean, that is a myth! Its like if I ate cereal for oral hygene … so don’t bring that up… again just wondering if y’all ever do that.

Can you help me interpret 2 dreams please?

The first one I was at my house and taking care of some little kid like age 6 I would say. Idk why I was taking care of him but he was opening cupboards finding food so I started boiling a box of macaroni . While I did this He opened a drawer full of ho hos and I said, "I’ll tell you what, I’ll have one and you’ll have the other." so we at one each. Then I went to the bathroom to find a strainer of macaroni noodles on the counter with my sister doing her hair ten I think I woke up.

The other dream I took a light rail down town (live in suburbs) and ended up walking to a casino. When I got there I was about to go in but some Asian lady at the doors said in that tone some that people talk to little kids with, "I’m sorry, but this is a casino. You know, we accept visas and master cards?" I just stood there staring at her because I’m 18 and then took a pencil of theirs and walked off. When I was leaving they were talking about how kids these days all think they can enter casinos and were laughing. It was weird cause I noticed all the staff were Asian. Idk but I am Asian too. So I Started walking and texted my best friend where he was at but I felt like someone was watching me. I opened some doors to a science museum and I heard a voice say "John (someone and) amanda are checking out your ass." I turned around as we kept walking in and it was someone I used to hang out with a lot a few ears ago with a couple of his friend girls. Next thing he asked me what my science museum profile was called and I said "what?" then he said "yeah mines smile24" or something and then I woke up.
