Crescent Zucchini and Kale Quiche

Ingredients:

2 packages Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 block tofu
1/2 bag of frozen kale (or a few handfuls fresh)
1/2 bag of frozen sliced zucchini (or two fresh sliced into small flat chunks)
as much minced garlic as you want
as much minced/chopped white onion as you like
a few shakes each of thyme and oregano
garlic salt to taste
enough olive oil to cover the bottom of a medium sized pan
Follow Your Heart Monterey jack "cheese" to taste

Directions:

First, open your package of tofu and put in a pasta strainer, and put the strainer over a dish. Fold up some paper towels and put them on top of the tofu, and then put something heavy on top (but not too heavy- you want the tofu to say in a block and not turn to mush). Let this drain for a while- maybe 20-30 minutes.

You may want to preheat the oven to 350 degrees F now, too.

While that’s draining, saute the veggies in olive oil until they’re soft and wilted.

Then you get a pie pan (the glass ones are best because you can see through the bottom to make sure the crust is browned) and completely line it with the crescent rolls. Don’t worry about overlapping- it makes the pie that much more delicious.

By now, the tofu should be dry enough, so take that out and crumble it with your hands into a blender or food processor. Put the sauteed veggies in and process it all together until you get a thick consistency- I like to leave some chunks for texture and variety.

Then, dump the mixture into the pie pan and shred a ton of cheese on top of it. I also threw some garlic salt and dried minced onion on.

Throw it in the oven and keep an eye on it.

Need help with biology lab report. Read inside!?

Which of the materials caused the cell membrane and nuclear membrane to break down? REMEMBER, THE CELL MEMBRANE IS A LIPID BILAYER. WHICH OF THE MATERIALS GETS RID OF LIPIDS?

Ok so in this experiment we collected DNA from three food samples, meat (steak), banana, and apple. We used a pinch of meat tenderizer in each mixture so I’m thinking it might have been that? If not here is a list of our materials:

blender, strainer, liquid detergent, glass stir rod, 50 mL food sample, table salt, test tubes and test rack, cold rubbing alcohol, 2 graduated cylinders, 100 mL of cold water, and meat tenderizer

Thanks for your help.
Thanks a lot, only one more question to be answered.

Raspberry coulis question?

OK, so I couldn’t find my tried-and-true raspberry coulis recipe (to be served with flourless chocolate cake for my husband’s birthday). I improvised with confectioners’ sugar, thawed frozen raspberries ad lemon juice, adjusting to taste. But I think I made a mistake by pureeing the sauce in a blender before straining it. I don’t have any cheesecloth, so after pureeing it, I just used the fine-holed, cone-shaped strainer from my food mill. The puree looks and tastes good, but there are pieces of pureed raspberry seeds that got through the strainer. In my place, would you still use it as is? I suppose I’d be willing to strain it again, but…no cheesecloth. What would you do in my place? Thanks.

Do you still get fiber through blended food?

I can only eat liquid food, so I use a blender and a strainer all the time to get the food I need… vegetables, egg (only very seldom meat as it won’t go through the strainer as well).
Now my question is: Do you still get the fiber in the vegetables when they have been blended with soymilk (I always strain it as well).

I’ve read the most horrible stories that your organs risk not working when you only eat liquid for years (in this case for the rest of my life and I am only 25 years old)

I am okay with it, I just want to be sure I get fibers and all I need.

Thanks :)

In this video I make green juice (Kale-Spinach) with an average blender and a paint strainer in place of a nut milk bag. It’s a lot cheaper then a nut milk bag and a 0 + blender. Though I will buy one day buy one. But I may never have to, which would save me a lot of money. The bottom line is every video watch has an expensive blender so I wanted to show people just use the blender they have at the moment and get a paint strainer. Hmmm Spinach and Kale juice, delicious.
