I have to write an essay that has 3 parts to it. The 2nd part says: Relate the story to the period of world history and region/area described. What did you learned that you didn’t know? Were you surprised by something? Compare & contrast to our culture (if you can).

This is in a small landscaping rock garden. The small rocks are on a 15′ long & 2′ wide galvanized sheet metal channel designed to direct water quickly to a front yard storm drain (or else our basement would flood). I’ll need to remove the rocks & grit by hand but it’s a small job. Grit from the driveway and dirt has caused the channel to fill up. What’s the best way to separate the grit/dirt from the rocks? What can I use that would function in effect as a colander? Thanks.

Nine-year-old wants to know. He has seen the method of a colander put on each human’s head & each colander hooked to a common kitchen blender with wires. But I assured him that the colander method as seen on television, ("Bugs Bunny", "The Penguins of Madagascar") would not work.
So is there any method or machine that can cause brain exchange between humans?

kidney stones and strainers?

has anyone ever opted for something bigger than the standard strainer your doctor has given you? When I had my attack, I had 2 stones & passed one there at the hospital. the strainer that they gave me wasnt that wide & when I aimed my Johnson at strainer & pissed it out, I almost missed the strainer. When I was ready to pass the 2nd stone a day later,I made my own strainer. I bought a good sized wire mesh food strainer & lined it with coffee filters. I found it easier to pass the stone into a larger strainer & not worrying about missing and landing in the toilet, since the 2nd stone did "pop" out because I had to put force on to get it out.

Straining baby food?

How do you strain baby food, such as peas & beans so the texture is like the jarred baby food that you would buy? I’m trying to make my own baby food. Usually I’ll steam the vegetables and then put them through a strainer, but it seems like all I mostly get out is water…and then I have to add cereal to thicken it up.
I forgot to say I usually steam them, them then I put them through a food processer and then I strain them…but for instance with peas, all I’ll mostly get out is green colored water

They use the word "sieve" in the name of the second chapter which is called, "The Sieve and the Sand." What does that mean? I looked in a dictionary, but it was a little hard for me to understand what it meant.
